PCI(Peripheral Component Interconnect) Express is a new standard for
expansion cards that comes in different versions. Presently, we have the x16 and

bandwidth for example, x1 lane offers 500MB/sec instead of just 133MB/sec for
PCI.

Rockdirect now produces Xtreme 64, a gaming laptop with AMD's new dual core
Athlon 64 X2 processor. This same laptop also sports the ATI Mobility Radeon

notebooks.

The major producers of dual-core chips are Intel and AMD. The Intel dual-core
processor has hyperthreading (HT) - the two cores are divided into four virtual
CPU units. Is all this needed? Again, if you're into heavy graphics or gaming -

Built-in Cellular Modem

Most high-end laptops now come with an integrated tri-mode 802.11a/b/g for
wireless WI-FI connections.

Some recent models, like the Sony's New Ultra-Portable VAIO VGN-T350P, are
raising the bar - it has the world's first 'Built-in Cellular Modem'. You can
use your cell phone to connect to the Internet. This may be a great advantage
since finding a 'Hot Spot' in some parts of the world can still be difficult.

The Avant-Garde: LumiLED Display

Be on the look-out for LED monitors in the near future. The brightness,
colors and backlighting technology in LED monitors will be quite different from
LCD displays.

The Forerunner in this field is NEC's SpectraView LumiLED, and will offer a
much better image and color. Keep your eyes peeled.

On the Horizon:

19 or 20 Inch Laptop Screens

There is a rumor, only a rumor, that Dell is coming out with a 19-inch laptop
in early 2006. There is also buzz that LG-Philips has a 20-inch LCD panel which
could easily be used by laptop makers
if they want to explore this market area. Andre the giant will be pleased!

Conclusion

Of course, there are many more laptop innovations in the pipeline but they're
beyond the scope of this article. Just keep all these new technological notebook
changes in mind when you're checking out your next laptop. Maybe, just maybe,
most of these won't already have been replaced by something new by the time you

- The Basics

In simple terms DIABETES is
the inability of the body to process sugars properly. When we eat or drink our PANCREAS
produces a hormone called INSULIN. Insulin is released into the blood and helps
to regulate the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. Diabetes is a
condition where this process does not function correctly. This is due to either:

- No insulin being produced,
often called Type 1 diabetes, and requires the sufferer to use insulin
injections, or...

- Insulin is produced but the body becomes RESISTANT to it. This renders the
insulin ineffective. This is normally called Type 2 diabetes and is rapidly
becoming more common.

Latest research shows that 2 in every 100 people have diabetes. Alarmingly half
of these people do not even know they have it. Many people have diabetes without
being aware of it because someone with diabetes looks no different from anyone
else.

Someone can have diabetes for months or even years without realizing they have
the condition. The danger is that while diabetes is not immediately life
threatening the long term effects of high blood
sugar can be damaging to one's health. Uncontrolled diabetes and prolonged
high blood sugar levels can, in later life, cause problems to many organs
including the kidneys, eyes, nerves and the heart. This may sound grim, however
controlling blood sugar by a combination of medicine, diet and exercise will
vastly reduce the long term complications.

The simplest way to check if you have diabetes is to arrange a
blood sugar check with your doctor. A tiny sample of blood, obtained by
pricking a finger is checked using a small electronic tester. A normal blood
sugar level is generally between 72 - 126 mg/dl or 4 - 7 mmol/l (1 mmol/l =
18mg/dl). Diabetes is diagnosed when the body is unable to keep the blood sugar
level within these limits. The unit of measurement used (mmol/l or mg/dl) will
depend on which country you live in.

Diagnosis of diabetes can
occur out of the blue during a routine check-up but more often it follows from
the sufferer experiencing the "symptoms" of diabetes. These symptoms
can be many or few, mild or severe depending on the individual.

The symptoms are:

NOTHING AT ALL (???) No this is not a typo. It is true many people do indeed
feel no different and are astonished to discover they have diabetes. However
even if you feel fine you must take your diabetes seriously and act on the
doctor's advice.

THIRST (polydipsia) This is a
very common symptom. Often it seems no matter how much you drink your mouth
still feels as dry as Death Valley. The problem is compounded before diabetes is
diagnosed by sufferers drinking copious amounts of...sugary drinks! Of course
this only increases the blood sugar level and leads to increased thirst.

INCREASED URINATION (polyuria)
Another very common symptom. Sufferers need to urinate often and pass large
volumes each time. In addition this symptom takes no account of time so sleep is
constantly disturbed by having to visit the bathroom during the night. It is a
mistake to think this is caused by the increased thirst and drinking more. The
opposite is true. High sugar levels in the blood spill over into the urine
making it syrupy. To counter-act this water is drawn from the body causing
dehydration and therefore thirst.

WEIGHT LOSS Glucose is the form of sugar which is the body's main fuel.
Diabetics cannot process this properly so it passes into the urine and out of
the body. Less fuel means the body's reserve tissues are broken down to produce
energy with a resultant loss in weight.

Other symptoms include constipation,
tiredness, lack of energy, tingling or pins and needles in the hands and feet,
blurred vision and increased infections.

If you have experienced any of these symptoms it does not necessarily follow
that you are diabetic however it might be advisable to visit your doctor to be
sure.

If it does transpire that you have diabetes please do not panic. It can come as
a shock and it will mean some changes in your life. While (currently) incurable
it can be treated so the long term complications are reduced or even eliminated.
As a result you may actually increase your health and life expectancy compared
to previously when you were taking no care of your body whatsoever. It requires
discipline and self-control however there is no reason why anyone with diabetes
cannot live a full and perfectly normal life.

First we had to get over the whole film thing after a nation of baby boomers

the idea of sending in our film for developing and waiting for our pictures to
come back.

Then along came digital
cameras and the world was taken by storm with this cool new technology.
Suddenly you could take a picture and see the results immediately. At first

things heated up and now we have fantastic

printer at all. Now you can buy a digital camera that transmits the images via
wireless technology. Yes, that is right, a wireless connection for your image
uploads.

Now, you may be among those in the population that have not even gotten their
hands around the whole digital image sharing thing yet. But this promising new
technology may lead us to a world of fewer cables to plug in, quicker transfer
of our images, and in the case of events in the world, the ability to share
images of news almost instantly.

As we saw in the recent bombings in London, folks with cell
phone cameras recorded the devastation they saw in the underground and
shared it with the world in almost real time fashion. These new cameras may be

images of news and other special events. They could transmit those images right
away and let the world see them.

Here is how it works:

Nikon has released two models of digital
cameras that are WiFi enabled. The idea is to be able to transmit your
pictures straight from the camera to your computer or printer through a wireless
adaptor. You bring up the images to transfer, hit "go", and they get
sent through the air to your printer. The Coolpix P1 and P2 will be in the
$400-$550 range in pricing and the adaptor is extra.

They are competing with Kodak which released its own version of the WiFi
camera in their Easy Share line of cameras this year. Kodak has already gone
to making it easy to share photos by transmitting them at so called "wireless
hot spots", usually cafes or stores where wireless access is sold or given
away to customers. These efforts by the leading camera makers seem aimed at
adding value to their already impressive digital technology.

Digital cameras continue to be hot sellers despite what some in the industry
thought would be a slowing of sales this year. Many had predicted that cell
phone cameras would slow digital
camera sales, but this is not happening.

Romancing the Stone...the myth, legend
and background of diamonds

From the earliest days, stories and myths about diamonds have been filled
with tales of mystical power, beauty and love. Some of the legends associated
with diamonds include a city of diamonds
protected by snakes, and diamonds that were impervious to the hottest fires.

Throughout history, the need to possess the glittering stones caused people to
lie, cheat, steal and even kill.

The word diamond comes from the Greek word �adamas� meaning invincible.
Diamonds were first used about 3,000 years ago in India and probably valued for
their ability to refract light, although they were also said to be a strong
talisman that protected the wearer in battle and warded off evil.

During the Dark Ages, St. Hildegard wrote that a diamond, held while making the
sign of the cross, healed wounds and cured the sick. Hoping to cure sickness,
people even tried eating them, although this practice was largely unsuccessful
and had stopped by the Middle Ages, when diamonds became valued for their worth,
rather than their healing properties.

It was during this time that diamonds acquired the reputation for being
poisonous. The owners of diamond mines perpetrated this myth, in an attempt to
stop workers from swallowing diamonds and thus smuggling them out of the mines.

Two of the world�s largest and most beautiful diamonds were discovered in
India during the Middle Ages � the Blue Hope and the Koor-I-Noor. In fact,
India still provides the foremost diamond polishing industry in the world today.

Smaller diamond finds
continued, in Borneo, Brazil and a few isolated locations in North America, but
even those finds weren�t enough to keep up with the demand, as India�s
diamond supply dwindled. It was in the mid-19th century that the biggest diamond
rush occurred, with the discovery of diamonds near the Orange River in South
Africa. Diamonds were also discovered in Australia, but it wasn�t until the
1970s that Australia�s potential as a diamond producer became proven. In 1979,
the Argyle pipe was discovered near Lake Argyle. It is the richest diamond
deposit in the world, and now produces over a third of the world�s diamonds
every year.

The most sought-after diamonds used to be white diamonds, until pink
diamonds were discovered in the Argyle. Diamonds come in white, pink, yellow,
blue and green. Green is probably the rarest because it has the least
penetration of color and often the color is disappears when the stone is cut.

How to Pick a Winner

1. CUT. Not the shape of the stone, but the quality of its facets.

2. CLARITY. Clarity levels start at Flawless and descend from Very Very Slight
(VVS) to Very Slight (VS) and Slightly Included (SI). Clarity measures the
number of flaws or inclusions in a diamond.

3. CARAT. The weight of a diamond. One carat equals about 200 milligrams.

4. COLOR. Transparent diamonds (those created from 100 percent carbon) are rated
on a scale from D (clear) through Z (light yellow). Grade D is the most
prestigious, but, because they are so rare, natural diamonds with tints of pink,
blue or purple have a cachet all their own.

No matter how it�s made, a diamond scores a 10 on the Mohs scale.

1. Easily scratched by a fingernail.

2. Just scratched by a fingernail.

3. Scratches and is scratched by a copper coin.

4. Not scratched by a copper coin and doesn�t scratch.

5. Just scratches glass and is easily scratched by a knife.

6. Easily scratches glass and is just scratched by a file.

7. Not scratched by a file.

8. Scratched only by corundum and diamond.

9. Will scratch anything but a diamond.

Ten of the Most Famous Diamonds and who owns Them:

There are more than 350 named diamonds that are famous for their histories.

The Cullinan is the largest cut diamond in the world. It was found in South
Africa and was named for the owner of the mining company. The Cullinan diamond
was 3106 carats, and was cut into 105 stunning diamonds. The largest was named
the �Star of Africa� and is 530 carats. In 1907 this diamond was given to
King Edward VII of England, and set into the Royal Scepter. It is kept, along
with the other Crown Jewels, in the Tower of London.

The Cullinan II is 317.40 carats. The color is white and is the cushion-shaped
diamond that is in the center-front of the Imperial State Crown of Great Britain.
It is also in the Tower of London with the British Crown Jewels.

The Dary-i-Nur is 186 carats, is pink and is in the Iranian Treasury. It is the
largest uncut diamond in
the world. Its name means �Sea of Light�.

The Dresden Green is 41 carats; it is green, and a very rare type ila diamond of
extraordinary quality. It gets its name from the city of Saxony where it had
been on display for 200 years. The Dresden Green is now on display at the
Albertinium Museum in Dresden.

The Hope Diamond is 45.52 carats, is blue, and is in the Smithsonian Institute.
According to legend, a curse was placed on the large, blue diamond after it was
stolen from an idol in India. Whether you believe in curses or not, the diamond
has had a fascinating past � it was owned by King Louis XIV, stolen during the
French Revolution, sold to pay gambling debts, owned and worn almost daily by an
American heiress, sold and worn to raise money for charity, and finally donated
to the Smithsonian Museum.

The Hortensia is 20 carats, is peach colored and is in the Louvre. It is one of
the crown Jewels of
France, and was owned by Louis XIV. It was named after Hortense de Beauharnais,
Queen of Holland, who was the daughter of the Empress Josephine, the
stepdaughter of Napoleon Bonaparte and the mother of Napoleon III.

The Kohinoor is 108.93 carats, white and is located in the Tower of London. As
with many of the most famous diamonds, there is a curse of death and destruction
attached to it. Its name means �Mountain of Light� and legend has it that it
actually comes from another diamond also rife with legend, called the �Great
Mogul" which was said to have weighed 244 carats and mysteriously
disappeared in 1665. The Kohinoor was owned by the first sultan of Mogul, and
passed down through generations, until it was given to Queen Victoria. It was
recut and now rests in the crown of Queen Elizabeth.

The Orloff is 189.62 carats. It is thought to have weighed about 300 carats when
it was discovered. For a while, it was confused with the Great Mogul diamond.
One legend of the Orloff is that it was set in the eye of a god statue in the
temple of Sri Rangen, and stolen by a French soldier dressed up like a Hindu. He
is said to have escaped by swimming down a raging river during a storm. It was
eventually sold to Prince Gregory Orloff. In an attempt to win back her heart,
he gave it to Catherine the Great, who collected lovers and precious gems with
equal passion. She had the diamond mounted on top of the double eagle in the
Imperial scepter. It is in the Russian Diamond Fund, Moscow.

The Spoonmaker Diamond has many legends associated with it. (It supposedly got
its name when the owner--who is said to have found it sitting on top of a pile
of garbage --bartered it to a spoonmaker for three wooden spoons.) More likely
is that it was purchased by a Frenchman named Pikot, who bought it from the
Maharajah of Madras in India. He took it to France, but was robbed. The diamond
ended up at an auction, and was bid on by the notorious Casanova. It was finally
bought by Napoleon�s mother, Letizia Ramolino, who later sold her jewelry to
help her son escape from Elba. It was bought again by an officer of Tepedelenli,
and put into the treasury.
When Tepedelenli was killed during a revolt, the entire treasury went to the
Palace of Turkey, and the Spoonmaker�s Diamond, now called the �Kasicki�
is there.

The Taylor-Burton Diamond is a 69 carat pear-shaped white diamond that was
originally called the �Cartier Diamond� after the jeweler paid $1,050,000
for it at an auction. Richard Burton purchased it the day after the auction for
Elizabeth Taylor. She later renamed it the Taylor-Burton diamond. Ms. Taylor
wore the diamond publicly at a party for Princess Grace�s 40th birthday party
in Monaco. She sold the diamond in 1978 and used the funds to build a hospital
in Botswana. The diamond
was later purchased by Robert Mouawad.

Did you know that HOW you pay your debts can affect how soon you will finishing
paying them off - even if you keep paying the same amount for debt every month?
Of course you might be able to get a consolidation loan, but if you're not
eligible or are not interested then there are several other things you can do.

It's not always the easiest to figure out the mathematics, but there are three
steps to quicker debt
relief - guaranteed.

STEP ONE - Create a list.

List your smallest debts first followed by your largest high-interest debts
(credit card) and then your largest low-interest
debts (Lines of credit and taxes).

The question then becomes, �Which plan is right for me?� In this article, I�ll give you tips on what to look for in a plan, what to ask your service provider and how to avoid common mistakes that new subscribers often make!

First, ask yourself �What do I want in a plan?� Finding the

right cellular plan is just a matter of deciding what, when, where and how you plan to use your phone:

- Will you be using it only for emergencies, or to chat with friends or family

often?

- Will you make most of your calls during the day, evening, or on weekends?

- Will your calls be coming from your local area, or will you phone while

traveling?

- What is your monthly budget for telephone services?

Getting the Most Minutes for your Money

Cell

phone plans often come with a pre-allotted set of minutes per month (which may or may not correspond with an actual �minute� of time depending on factors such as where you are when you make the call, calling a long distance number and so on).

When you use up your minutes, you may be faced with paying an overage fee or paying a higher amount for the extra minutes. With many plans, the minutes you don�t use do not automatically roll over to the next month. So if you only used 30 minutes out of your 90 minute monthly allotment, you don�t get to keep the 60 minutes you didn�t use that month. You simply start over at 90 again.

Some other important differences to note in cell phone plans (as versus traditional
telephone service) that you�ll want to keep in mind when comparison shopping include:

- You may find that your minutes are used up for both incoming and outgoing
calls

- Calling a toll free number can cost you minutes

- The actual amount of time you�ve spent on a call is usually roundedup. So if you spent 3 minutes and 5 seconds on a call, you may find that 4minutes have been used.

- The clock starts ticking on your minute usage the minute you press the

�Call� or �Send� button, not the moment the otherperson picks up.

Most cellular service providers have a special phone number or web site address where you can login to check the number of minutes you have remaining each month.
Keep in mind though, depending on how often the accounts or web site is
updated, the numbers may not always be current.

Long Distance, Dropped Calls and Roaming - Oh My!

When choosing a wireless plan, keep in mind where you�ll be using your phone most often.
Some service providers have nationwide coverage, while others target a
specific �home area�. If you make or receive a call outside of this area, you are Roaming, and your minutes may run out
faster or you may face an extra charge. Know the boundaries of your calling area you could be charged for long distance and roaming on top of the minutes that are spent during the call!

If you have a set of numbers that you dial frequently (such as friends, family,

doctors and so on), ask the wireless provider if the cell phone plan you�re
interested in will work in those locations without accruing long distance or roaming charges.

What To Ask Your Service Provider

If you've got a handful of good plans you�re considering, these
questions

may help narrow down the field of choices:

- Can I use my minutes anytime? Can they be used during �peak times�
or am I charged more during those hours? (peak times usually occur on weekends). When do �peak hours� start and end?

- How much extra am I charged if I go over my monthly allotment of minutes?

- How much will I be charged for long distance and/or roaming? (Some
nationwide carriers do not charge for these services unless you call out of
the country)

- What is your cancellation policy? What happens if I cancel early? Will I be charged a cancellation fee after my plan has been activated?

- Can I make any changes to my plan (such as increasing or decreasing the number of minutes) after my service has been activated?

- What other features are included on my plan? (such as voice mail, caller ID) and if not included, how much would they cost to add to my service?

Remember, get all of these answers in writing. That way, if you suddenly find a $100 Early Cancellation charge on your bill, and you have a written document that states that there is no early cancellation fee, you�ll have an easier time of disputing the charge.

If you have several
plans you�d like to try out, ask the service provider if there is a grace period where you can cancel your service without being charged (or being charged only a small amount) if the service doesn�t meet your expectations. Chances are, many wireless providers will be eager and happy to help you compare plans.

Have you heard that commercial about interest-only mortgages...the one where you�re told about what a wonderful benefit it is to have a low, low mortgage payment and all the wonderful tax write-offs you will receive?

Before you decide to buy now and pay later, that is pay �big time� later,
take a moment to enlighten yourself a bit more about these so-called �interest only mortgages.� Think about it for a moment. If you just pay the interest on your home, will you ever start paying on principal and will you ever earn any equity into your property?

By definition, a mortgage is a temporary, conditional pledge of property to a creditor as security for performance of an obligation or repayment of a debt. Simplified, that means you borrow money from a financial institution and they essentially buy your house and you pay it back. How can this happen if you�re just paying interest? More accurately, interest-only mortgages are a temporary reprieve for paying off a
traditional mortgage. You may actually be prolonging the inevitable and
eventually making it even more costly to pay off your mortgage.

Far too many people are in debt way over their heads because of interest-only mortgages. They took advantage of attractive offers to buy now and pay later. With an interest only payment you�re keeping the principal at minimum value while continuing to pay interest at 100%. With a more conventional mortgage you�d be slowly dwindling down the total interest amount.

What if a trusted friend were to tell you about an investment where you could not possibly go wrong...what would be your reaction? Although the answer to these questions seems apparent, when it comes to investing in our health
and quality of life we often choose to ignore what obviously works. Take for example, exercise...

Physical fitness may be the ultimate investment opportunity. Think of it this way. If you are willing to make the commitment (investment), you will feel and look healthier, have an abundance of energy, be more self-confident, more productive and discover a more joyous and fulfilling life. These are rewards that money cannot buy and the substance of high quality living.
And, the investment of exercise becomes even more attractive when you consider that there is absolutely no down-side risk. You have everything to gain and nothing to lose. How much better can it get? How many times can you remember ever having a better offer? The honest answer is probably never, and yet many of us fail to act on this extraordinary opportunity. We simply choose to procrastinate or ignore the proven benefits of exercise!

Here are a few reasons that sometimes inhibit our willingness to "step out" and make a change or take a chance:

- Sometimes our vision gets clouded. We lose tract of what is really important. Forget about the less important activities that tend to clutter our daily routine and focus on exactly what needs to be accomplished to reach your goal.

- Looking at the "big" picture can seem overwhelming. And the bigger the task, the more overwhelming it can seem. Break the task apart into smaller pieces. If you want to lose
50 pounds try losing 10 pounds and repeat the process five times! Need to start an exercise program? Begin with short, simple exercises and then slowly expand your routine. Don't exercise too hard when first starting-out or you will become stiff, tired, disillusioned and soon quit.

- Have you ever not wanted to start something for fear of failure? Take the
first step, acknowledge the fear and the next step will come easier. Once fears are acknowledged, they usually quiet down.

- Sometimes we start to think that a task is unpleasant or boring. Just like any other activity, this can also be true for exercise. There are days when we just plain lack the enthusiasm and motivation to continue. It's part of human nature.
On days like these focus on 'why' you are doing it. Think about all the people you care about and who may need and rely on you. What would happen if you became ill or disabled and was unable to work for a period of time, or worse, if you were out of the picture completely. How would things change? If something happened tomorrow, how would your
family or business manage without you? What do you want your life to be like in the future? There are many tasks or chores we do, that we may not like, but are necessary to live a happen and productive life. Focus on the bigger picture.

- Indecision can be defeating, but doing "anything" is better than
doing nothing. There are no wrong choices and very few choices that can't be undone or done again. Can't decide on a particular exercise program or routine?
Pick a few exercises and start with something simple. If you don't like it, go
on to the next exercise.

- When you lack the confidence to start something new, take
a deep breath and try to figure out why. Are you hesitating because you
really lack the skill or is it just imagined? If it's real, try to find out
where to gain the skills you need or find someone with the right skills who can help. In the case of exercise, finding a qualified personal fitness trainer can sometimes do the trick, but be wary...some PFT's are overzealous and tend to start newcomers on programs that are too strenuous.

- Life just seems too busy to find time for some activities. Large,
uninterrupted chunks of time are very hard to come by. And if we're honest, when they do come, we'd rather do something totally pleasurable! Exercise
has to become part of your routine. It can't be an option. Make it a high
priority just the same as your career, and other areas of interest. You will be
surprised at how easy exercise becomes when approached this way!

- Have you ever subconsciously (or otherwise) invited distractions so that you have a "good" reason not to get something done? Sometimes it's the simple things like answering the phone or sitting down to watch that "one"
TV program, that distract us. When you find yourself doing this, take control of the situation and make a conscious decision to do what you are avoiding.

To reap the benefits of exercise, or any other health related endeavor, you must agree to become a willing participant. This will require due diligence on your part. And remember, as you embark on your mission you are investing in something near and dear to your own heart...your life and a future of healthy living.

Tough Time Deciding on a Name for Your
Baby?

The conversation went something like this:

�Hey honey, when we get pregnant,
how about if we name our baby Jack, if it�s a boy?� The husband responded,
that no, he indeed did NOT like that name. As time went by, they acquired a cat.
They were having a hard time finding a name
for the male feline. Finally the husband just said, �You like the name
Jack so well, let�s give that name to the cat. Because I am NOT having
a son named Jack.�

So the couple went happily on their way, enjoying the newlywed life and their
new cat, Jack.

After a bit of time passed, the happy couple learned they were expecting a
bundle of joy to be born later that year. They began the overwhelming task of
deciding on names. It�d be easy if the baby was a girl. They agreed upon a
girl�s name long before they were ever married.

They poured over baby naming books; they shared ideas; they made lists; they
tried coming up with a boy�s name using this method; then they tried that
method. Still nothing. They could not agree on a boy�s name.

Thanks to modern technology the couple learned that they were having a baby girl.
Their naming problem was solved! They proceeded with the remainder of the
pregnancy preparing for the baby girl who already had a name. They even called
the baby by her name as the husband read to the pregnant belly.

But then yet another ultrasound revealed that the little girl they had come to
know and love was actually a
little boy!

The baby was scheduled to make HIS delivery
into the world in relatively short time. The parents
frantically went back to the tireless task of finding a boy�s name they could
both agree upon.

One night the husband announced that he liked the name Jack for his son! (This
is a true story ladies � can you even imagine how you�d feel if your husband
announced this grand revelation?)

To the wife�s dismay she reminded her husband that he was the one who did not
like that name; in fact went as far as to declare he would NOT have a son named
Jack. She then jogged his memory that they had a cat named Jack. Jack the cat
even responded to his name.

You may have guessed the rest of the story. The cat now has a new name. It is
rather original. The feline is now known as Kitty
Cat (K.C. for short). And they have a beautiful son named Jack.

What�s the moral of the story? If you are having a hard time coming up with a
perfect name, you just might try the name you�ve given to the family pet!

interview for a position that fits you PERFECTLY. Now comes the moment of
truth: Are you REALLY ready for the interview?
If you�ve rehearsed what you�re going to say and know the perfect answer to
every potential question, you�re half way there. There�s just one important
thing you�ve forgotten:

Yourself.

How do you sell yourself and show your potential
employer how valuable you can be to their company? You want to make them
hire you TODAY and not even THINK about other applicants. You know you�re the
right person for the job, so how do you make THEM see that? Here are seven easy
steps you can take to really make yourself shine during the interview
process.

1. First, find out everything you can about the company you�d be working for.
Who are its customers? What is its mission statement? How does the job you�d
be performing relate to the company�s goals? Finding out this type of
information gives you great insights on what kinds of questions
to ask your interviewer and shows them that you�ve done your research and
already have some background in the company�s business and objectives.

2. Read over the job description
carefully. Analyze your own strengths and see how you can tie the two together.
If you have previous experience, make note of those times where you helped
achieve a specific result. Employers give more serious consideration to
applicants who have a background and a track record in their industry than those
who do not.

3. First impressions count. It should go without saying that you should arrive
15 minutes prior to the interview, dress
appropriately (if not above) the position you�re applying for, greet your interviewer
with a firm handshake and maintain eye contact throughout the discussion
process. Be enthusiastic, personable and outgoing. Show a sincere interest in
the people you meet and the work you�d be doing. Interviewers can tell if
you�re desperate!

4. Show that you can solve problems and work well under pressure, since nearly
every job will require both skills. If you can identify a particular problem in
your industry or that you may face when doing this job,
give the interviewer some ideas of how you would solve it. Be calm, relaxed and
confident. Some nervousness is expected, but your overall mannerisms (such as
fidgeting, nail-biting, slumping in your chair) will be an instant giveaway on
how well you REALLY work under stress. Likewise, if you project confidence and
security in how you carry yourself, the interviewer will definitely notice.

5. If your mind goes blank when asked if you have any questions (and you should ALWAYS
have a couple of questions ready), consider asking why this position is open.
What�s the company�s track record and turnover rate? Are they performing
well and keeping employees on board? Remember, you�re not just selling
yourself on how you�d be a great fit for this company, but finding out how
this company could also be a great fit for you.

6. If an interviewer asks a question that makes you feel uncomfortable, smile
politely and ask, �Why would you like to know?� Remember, your employer is
prohibited from asking you personal questions, including references to your race,
gender, sexual preference, marital status and child care situations. Your
interview should be focused on how well you can perform the job, not your home
and family life.

7. After the
interview, be sure to follow up with a thank-you
note. Recount your strengths in the letter and highlight your qualifications.
Touch on specific discussions or conversations you had with the interviewer to
help them remember that polished, professional, enthusiastic candidate (you).
Close the note by letting the interviewer know of your sincere interest in the
position and your confidence in doing it well.

- What other features are included on my plan? (such as voice mail, caller ID)
and if not included, how much would they cost to add to my service?

Remember, get all of these answers in writing. That way, if you suddenly find a

that states that there is no early cancellation fee, you�ll have an easier
time of disputing the charge.

If you have several plans you�d like to try out, ask the service provider if
there is a grace period where you can cancel your service without being charged
